fabric top to hard bottom

The fabric top is shrinkable dacron. The hard bottom is WEST epoxy + glass fabric. To join the two I draped the fabric over the sheer, applied a bead of clear silicone to the outside of the sheer, gently pushed the fabric into the silicone caulk, let it set for a few hours, gently trimmed the fabric by cutting through the fabric+caulk 3/4 inch down from the edge. Heat shrink and coat the fabric. This gives a very clean look. I just did a peel test and the fabric is still well attached after 10 years. Test on a sample, of course...no idea what brand caulk I used.... Steve
