Glad to help. I just finished a test pannel using the light red mahogany and it is REALLY red but it evened out most of the color variation in the strips. If the color is too strong you can supposedly dilute it with alcohol or acetone (that will be my next test pannel). Then again I think you said you were using black in which case the retarder is supposed to slow the drying time and help you maintain a "wet edge".
