I fail to see how posting images to this or the other forums will put anyone at increased risk for Spam. In the years that I have been posting images to this and the related forums, I have seen niether and increase nor decrease in the "spam load" I recieve. Regardless, it certainly will not result in a "Big opening into" a persons machine. If users here have a problem with spam, they should consider finding an ISP who offers spam filter abilities or services such as Postini. These work and are well worth their minimal cost.
If you choose to "hide" and attempt to circumvent the system to avoid these problems, more power to you. I cringe, however, to see you encourage others to not post images, thereby crippling one of the most powerful features of the forums. If we were to do so we might as well go back to pencil, paper and postage stamps ... I'll try not to throw your letters out with the junk mail :-)
