I built the Osprey Standard for my wife, but I end up using it most. It was really a straight forward boat to build. I paddle it just off Lake Michigan in Green Bay. Tracks well, nose buries into waves of more than 2 feet. A little difficult to maintain course on the crest of waves...stable enough I guess (I usually spill getting in though). We chose that design because my Wife sees herself more as a day tripper, not an expedition paddler, and for exploring tight spots, the length was perfect. A big factor was the specifications outlined in the Pygmy descriptions of paddler size and boat model. Our plans for wilderness expeditions would take into account another boat(s), I'm building my own now...and we have a canoe for bigger parties. The cockpit is a little large.
