I'm on the opposite corner of OH, Jim, so my Osprey doesn't see the big water too much. 12-18" whitecaps across a 3-mile fetch are about the biggest 'seas' I see - my main water is Indian lake if you happen to be familiar.

With me at 6'1" 190, size 11 shoe, I've got plenty of room. The cockpit is huge - I'm long in the legs, and my shins couldn't find the front of the cockpit for trying. The 24" beam is plenty stable, but the bottom is round enough that it doesn't feel tubby. The boat just doesn't know about the wind - tracks like a train. I was looking for that after my Edisto, but this is stronger than I'd prefer for inland use. Maneuvering in marshes and channels isn't this boat's strong point.

I'm a day-boater, so I don't load a boat much. My calcs give a .6" increase in draft going from 230 to 280lbs displacement, and there's plenty of freeboard available.

I haven't seen good long-period waves in this boat, so I can't speak to broaching. I've buried the bow in big wakes and clapotis, and it corks up and keeps running in stuff that'd stop the Edisto dead - not that I'm making much of a comparison there.
