Lay the cove part of the cheater strip over the adjacent bead, trim the cheater to match the angle of the other strip, and either router a bead or carve with a plane which is fairly easy and how I did it.
Another thing that I did that helped out was to carve the cheater strip first, temporarily put it in place on the fixed strip, and then pull down the next full strip to meet the cheater strip. This was slightly easier to pull the next full strip to meet the cheater than carving the cheater to fit the gap.
