: Hi, Steve. You may want ot look at these plans from Clark Craft. They are
: similar to yours, and about the same difficulty to build, but there are
: boats of various dimensions, and I don't believe any of them are wider
: than 28".

: As a fellow scouter, I wish you success and lots of good trips. I have
: tripped with a couple of these boats in the fleet (16' doubles, paddled as
: singles), and they were just fine.

I was just digging through their web site yesterday! The Sea Scout (#BK27) and the Fast Touring 15 (#BK15) both looked interesting, but the view of the frame on the other Fast Touring 15 (#BK57) looked way too complex. I wasn't sure how the frames were assembled on the other two. Are they plywood forms with strips screwed/glued in place?

We had an assistant scoutmasters meeting last night. The general feeling there is to stay with the existing design rather than try something new. None of them have built a kayak and few have even paddled one. So it will take some work to get them to try a new (to them) design. They seem to be interested in the storage space of the larger boat. Do you have any recollection as to how much room there was in the Clark Craft boats?

Thanks for the input

Steve
