I am a first time builder and just finishing my Little Auk (11ft version). I had my timber cut into strips and bead and coved but did the form cut outs and all the rest myself (so not too dissimilar to a kit). This has taken about 120hrs, my guess would be a professional could take a third off this without too much trouble as the little auk does not have hatches or a lot of the other fittings of the bigger boats.
