Lee,
Sorry, some of your message was lost. However, Sue's boat is the Osprey Standard, and it is only 15 feet and some inches long...judging from the descriptions in Nick Schade's book on general design and characteristics, I'd bet money that it is infact slower than a 17' boat...given the paddlers were of equal ability....but I'm pretty much speculating here...so I wouldn't bet too much money (I don't have much as it is).
