: 82-83. One thing I do is after I've done the tapering, I sand the shaved
: side to fit in the cove (round it off) of the strip it is going into. All
: my strip building experiences have been with bead and cove. The hull of
: the kayak I'm working on was done cove up, so when I needed to insert the
: cheater strip I planed (block plane) the bead side, to keep the cove for
: the next strip that was to be laid in. Susan Van Leuven covers the topic
: too, in "The Illustrated Guide to Wood Strip Canoe Building",
: pages 59 thru 60, with good pictures on page 60. Ted Moores covers it in
: "Canoe Craft" (first edition), page 82.
