Andy-- How could you let buying a house get in the way of kayak building? As far as moving the form/strongback assembly, the answer is "Yes." Put some strips on first. They will firm everything up. Even if you are not ready to start stripping, staple some long strips to the forms. You'll be surprised how solid the whole assembly becomes in a hurry.
