My first post here, but I had an idea that might save your panel. Why not turn the lack of stain into a design. Tape it off in a pattern and sand out a design. Only you and the board would know it wasn't intentional, and I don't think anyone on the board would hold it against you.

: panels look like they have Psoriasis. My next strategy is to add more
: stain to the back 3 feet or so on each side to try and match the darker
: shade all around but I'm resigned to probably having to order new panels
: and re-build the whole deck. It's depressing but I guess that's what I get
: for trying to get too fancy on my first boat. Damn, I had the fit just

: Note to Self: Baby sit the fresh glue-up next time and wipe up ALL drips
