Don't wait another second - buy it. I have use my bandsaw more than any other tool. I picked up an old Crafsman 12" without a motor or stand for cheap. After getting it running I used it to rip strips and have used it nearly every day when stripping to trim angled ends (such as when finishing out the football). If I could have had it running from the beginning I wouldn't have needed to buy a jigsaw for cutting forms.

And the next best thing that I aquired in the shop was a new bandsaw blade (only $11 and I wish I had known they were than cheap from the start).
