: Hello All,

: I have purchased a couple of tins of this varnish for finishing my Merganser.

: I have previously used it unthinned on the deck of my west river using faom
: brushes. I am of the opinion that a better finish can be achieved with
: thinning and good quality bristle brushes.

: Firstly.
: What can I use to thin it? What is in "Enamel Thiners No 1"?

: Secondly
: What are peoples views on the use of foam brushes?
: I have had trouble with the brushes falling apart (small pieces of faom
: coming off into the finish). Any solutions?

: Many Thanks

Hi Nicholas, I have used a thinner made by Interlux (International) recommended for use with Goldspar. It is called 216.

I have also used cheap foam brushes that fall apart but now I only use the brand name "SIMMS". I don't know if you can find these down under. Good luck.
