I just bought some Werdol, apparently a very good Dutch varnish especially for wooden boats (the wooden boat school down here use it), the label talks about thinning it with a couple of their products and then there was a hand drawn texta mark through another option, which when you look at it closely was mineral turpentine (turps in Oz speak). I asked the dealer if turps was ok for thinning and he assured me it was. Perhaps the same applies to the Goldspar. Posing another question, what percentage do you intend to thin it, and will you vary it each coat. The Werdol instructions are 50%, then 25% then 10% but that is starting with raw wood not a nice epoxy surface. It is quite thick and I dont think will wet out the odd white spot due to sanding dust in a little pocket so intend to do my first coat at 10 or 25% thinned.
