I read up on the readwood post from ?September?
Are there opinions: I'm considering taking my sanding back from the 150 grit I finished yestderday to 100 grit. Visually I couldn't tell a difference but I could feel it, mostly where the 150 grit leveled out the hardgrain with the softgrain.
My deck is nearly all Redwood. The hull is all Douglas Fir except 4 strips of Redwood -so far no reason to fret about the hull.
