I have a friend that uses one regularly...

As you say, it takes a steady hand, and very light touch...

And a WARNING: Don't go forward... You tend to get into a swinging motion and if you go forward, with the grinder tilted it will dig a big smile into and through your wood.... Not a pretty sight...
Always pull the grinder toward you when sanding/grinding.
