Oops I forgot about the gaps.

I injected epoxy on the outside seams to help glue them together while it was held together with the wire ties. Then applied thickened epoxy in the spaces between the wires. I probably pulled the wires once it had set nicely and then did the inside taping.

I confess to having some gaps in the vicinity of the bow and stern. Which I filled with wood coloured dookie schmooze epoxy. The cover up job wasn't half bad, but I then put a paua (abalone) veneer strip along the sheer. This covered up a multitude of sins and made my kayak distinctive if not unique. If you don't have any paua veneer strip, a strip of cherry veneer might do (just noticed that you can buy tubes of that stuff in the Lee Valley tool catalogue)or even a bit of electrical tape could provide a highlight??

Don't take me wrong. I bet your project is looking real good and you will be the only one who will ever know/notice the fine details.

Cheers Pete
