I am surprised you glassed before assembling the hull, I would have thought glassing would be done one the hull is assembled and in the correct form, all nice and aligned and settled into position. I however only ever built CLC boats.
If you now have to torque incorrectly shaped, epoxy/glass reinforced panels to the correct shape, and then attach them and hope everything is and stays in balance, why not consider application of heat? Epoxy really softens up when hot. A heat gun would probably be able to heat up a large panel in a controlled fashion, and you would then shape the panel with a form you would pre-assemble and have ready.
this way the boat would not have permanent internal stresses trying to spring it.
Havent dont this but I would be tempted if I were in your shoes. This is from the belt-sander guy.
They do heat treat, with steam heat, wooded beams in traditional boat building, for the traditionalists out there.
: I'm eyeing a flat spot on the hull's left stern side. Now that it is glassed,
: I'm afraid I'll be in for one hell of a fight when it's time to stitch it
: to the deck (today). So far, I have done all the stitching myself.
: Anybody out there needed to get help from another person to join the deck and
: hull? Just what is "normal" anyway for effort to join deck and
: hull?
