: I read that and I was wondering if there is a better coating to use with the

Joe,
Every skin material that has been mentioned has been thoroughly tested and
all will provide you with a "strong" skin. Of the raw sewn and coated
cloths my favorite is nylon. It's excellent shrink characteristics allow
for a tight fit .
Glued PVC skins are pre-coated both sides with Vinyl and are perhaps the
easiest skins to construct since no sewing or coating is required.
Due to it's very limited stretch properties, PVC will not be quite as
tight as the others. It's my favorite folding skin due to it's flexibility
and durability, but works just as well on a non-folder.
Hypalon is a durable, but expensive, coating for both raw nylon and polyester.
You really can't go wrong on any skin material currently in use. They all have
their plus and minus sides, but all work well.
