I don't know how many stations you intend to use to plot this aft arc. Just make sure there are enough to properly support the strips and look at beveling the trailing edges of the stations to get a fair curve when you laydown the strips.

Lots of prep work at the front end will make this job much simpler and you'll have fewer surprises as you complete the form.

Mike's suggestion about laying down a clean edge for the top and bottom halves is good. I'd make it a couple of strips wide, myself, to have some room to fair the halves cleanly. Have fun with the layout of the strips. You could create some very interesting effects with color and grain choices.
