In Response To: Tools: Dust Mask for Beards (GNiessen)

: Any recommendations for dust and organic fumes masks for those of us with
: beards? I do not have a full beard, but am where a normal dust mask
: covers. I seem to get more air through my beard then the mask. This means
: I need to vacuum my beard after taking the mask off (ya, I am sure it
: looks funny). And I am sure I am getting plenty of dust past the beard. I
: can just imagine the organic fumes. So before I plunk down $50 on a real
: mask, I would want know it will work, short of shaving the beard.

I also have this issue and solved it by purchasing the rubbized face masks.. A double organic for the epoxy and a small single with a dust/particle filter in the front... Both work very well when you cinch up the rubber straps.. I have taken the hardener from my epoxy and put it up around the beard and inhaled.. nothing. Same with the dust mask and sanding dust... The rubber cups conform very well to face shapes and press the beard down very well... I got both at a local hardware store for approx $70.00 for the pair.
