Being rigid I wonder how it will take over time to the normal stresses a kayak goes through. Keep us posted on it's durability. I can see building one of those to play with.

: I built an ultralight using Platt Montfort's design approach by taking the
: station forms from my Dragonfly and stretching it a bit. It's a
: surprisingly strong construction approach. Aside from the hard-point area
: around the cockpit, I used 1/4" cedar strips and maple veneer to make
: the boat. It's primary home is with a couple who uses it a lot, both here
: in Ohio and down in Florida. The dacron is surprisingly tough, and I can
: rest my 220lbs on the back of the coaming with no problem. It's seen 2
: seasons of regular use with no leaks or tears. I may build another this
: winter and make it lighter since I learned a few things the first time
: around. It's very quick and responsive.

: Also the building approach is a dream with next to no sanding, etc.
