: Greg--
: Some other people on this board have experience with peeling glass, not
: because it was a structural failure, but because they had an older boat
: that they wanted to sand and re-glass. Apparently, it is not that
: difficult to strip even properly bonded glass. Once they get a corner
: loose and grab it with pliers (a little heat helps) they can strip the
: whole boat with little effort.
: So I'm not sure if you've got a failed bond or you've got glass without a
: fill coat and maybe not even fully cured epoxy that is behaving normally.
: It doesn't sound like it took much force at all to strip the glass off. Is
: there any chance of contamination during the long storage of the glass?

Mike-The glass has been a plastic zip-loc since I bought it, and though it's been stored in dusty places I don't think that's the problem; you're right about no fill coat though. I used fast hardener, and the epoxy was no longer green when I trimmed it; rather than fold along the edge of the tape, the glass just lifted up. I'll try a slower hardener tis next time.-Greg
