: Hey Bill,

: "Southern Breeze" is her name. She is my interpretation of the
: Guillemot "L" designed by Nick Schade (our gracious host).

: Below is a pic of my first stripper. This one is the Guillemot 17'(named
: Arcturus) that I built for my wife for our 31st anniversary last
: year(another of Nick's designs).

: It looks like you're getting the hang of posting the pics - they're still
: showing up. Now lets see some yak pics!

: Happy Building.

: Charles.

Charles,
Wow. Very cool on a number of levels. What a thoughtful and romantic gift for your wife on your anniversary....so much spirit and intention just for her. Beautiful Strip pattern...on the deck, it is obvious, but I like how the strips along the sides of the hull compliment the lines of the boat and tie it all together. I'll bet you get an especially excellent feeling seeing Arcticus make that gentle wake as she glides through the water. The look of love and enthusiasm on your Mrs.'s face as she paddles or stands for the photograph is especially touching. Oh, and way to make use of your boats by taking the trips. The naming of the boats is very personal.

I'm loathe to publicly post pictures of my current project incomplete, so you'll need to wait until she's "finished"...as Rob Macks says, "It's not finished until it's finished". However, the link I put in at the bottom here should take you to a couple of pictures of our canoe..."Ripple". Most people would think..."...Ripple, must be because of the way she moves through the water...", however, her name comes from the way the glass ripples on the hull interior...I guess as I laid it up the glass floated a bit, and sort of bunched up in a few places, and I didn't notice it until the epoxy had started to set, making the squeegy, smooth out impossible. I could have sanded smoothe and patched with more glass, but I decided to live with it...the ripples weren't so bad that they would be uncomfortable to a kneeling paddler, and they weren't so many that there was too obviouse a defect.

Thanks for sharing the photos...very excellent.
