Engenius design...looks like you based it somewhat on the floor mounted one in Nick Schade's book (figure 9-13, page 150, "The Strip Built Sea Kayak"), but the bungies are an interesting adaptation. Way to make use of the deck interior, or under deck....not to be confused with the under dog.

The contraption is
: epoxiglued up under deck and consists of a rail and a slider with support
: and pedals. All in wood, birchplywood exept the hinges for the pedals. You
: can sit down in the cockpit and easily adjust the slider with the strap.
: The slider can be taken away from the rail for service.

Richard, you finished the interior of that boat to perfection... I wish the deck "exterior" of my boat looked as clean....you can imagine what the interior is like...but...but...I had my reasons (not to be confused with excuses)!

Nice use of contrasting wood on the face of that "contraption".
