: The car is a Subaru Legacy estate. My wife has an Imprezza saloon...

Translation - Queen's English to U.S. English:
(for those of you who don't know your boot(trunk lid) from your bonnet(hood))

estate = 'wagon'
saloon = 'sedan'

Definitions(U.S.English):

Estate:
1) A landed property, usually of considerable size.
2) The whole of one's possessions, especially all the property and debts left by one at death.

-or- What we'd have if we actually tried creating wealth instead of kayaks.

Saloon:
1) A place where alcoholic drinks are sold and drunk; a tavern.

-or- A place where kayaking stories appear much more impressive.
