Gravity must work differently in Australia!

In Response To: No fastener explanation. (Nickle)

: The fastener thing wasnt a specific goal of the project. I just realised that
: I hadn't used any at the end of the project. It just turned out that way
: with the fittings choices I made.

Amazing that it worked out that way for you. And you still completed the project in a reasonable period of time....off hand, I'd say it would have taken longer. Maybe insprational is a better word than "amazing".

I used lots of clamps and a lot of tape
: to hold everything in place.

Yeah, I'll bet! I'll also bet you had to come up with some creative ways to use clamps and tape to hold the pieces in place....or does gravity work differently in "Antipodes"?

: Odd that it happened without trying specifically for no fasteners as my WR
: has a lot of fasteners in it. I just hope the epoxy holds!

Chalk it off to the learning curve. The second time around, you probably had a feel for how the craft would come together. If anything, the uncertainties of fitting pieces and using epoxy were aleviated. If you glassed her inside and out, the epoxy should hold...or just use a clamp and more tape.

On the clamps, were they store bought or did you need to engineer some yourself? If they were store bought, what kinds served you best? I've got a ton of C-clamps, and working on my collection of spring clamps...however I've got four of those kind that have wide jaws, and a spring release mechinism...you squeeze the handles and it locks in place...no more or less pressure to hold the piece than you can squeeze...which is good for fragile pieces. Ahh, to design the perfect clamp...now there's a better mouse trap!

Thanks for the reply!
