You need to know what hte paddle was originally finished with. If it was an oil-based finish, epoxy will never stick to it and you have to use another oil based finish on it. If it was an epoxy-based finish, then youre good to go with a new epoxy. I know Superior uses epoxy, it states it on thier website. THere are ways to test what kind of finish it is, but im not well versed in that.
