Strip: Green Strips....how long to dry?

Last weekend my girlfriend and I ripped green 2x6 Alaska Yellow
Cedar into strips. Some boards were dryer than others. Any advice
on how long to wait before trying to use them? Is there a good
way to test how dry the strip is?
