: I've seen pictures so I know it's possible (pictures never lie ). I was
: thinking about it last Fall when we climbed a 12,000ft snowcovered vocanic
: cone (Mt. Adams) here in Washington State. Everyone slides down the
: mountain on their butts using a moutineering maneuver called
: "Glissading". Here is a shot of my climbing buddy preparing to
: glissade 2,000 vertical feet...

: (Can you say "frozen wedgie") Here's yours truly mid-glassade
: http://students.washington.edu/leprakon/photos/mtadams/mtadams093.jpg
: (it's steeper than it looks). Here we are at the summit
: http://www.chipsandresky.com/mt_adams/Untitled-14.jpg (I'm on the right,
: another volcano [Mt. Ranier] is in the background)
: On a slope like Mt. Adams you have to actually dig your ice axe into the snow
: to slow down and stay in control. You roll over and self-arrest if you
: start going too fast.
How's the greenland roll with that? hehe
