: The problem is that the first
: deck strip meets the first hull strip at close to 90 degrees in the fromt
: stations, transitions to 30 degrees or so in the middle stations and then
: back to 90 degrees in the back several stations.
To make those tight turns on my Outer Island I started with 1/4" square strips and planed a running bevel ... it's a little tedious but it's not as hard as it sounds. The strips come out kinda wedge shaped. You can use your heat gun to add a little twist if necessary when you install 'em. Before you start, take some short scrap pieces, plane a running bevel on 'em and trial fit 'em in a few places ... if you don't get a clear idea of how to plane the bevel, you can mess up the angles and thicknesses and have to rip all your work out and start over ... guess how I know that!
