i got my rigging worked out on the deck. the holes are drilled and the hardware in place. i couldnt find anymore sportfittings cheap, so i used soft webbibg ala the "casualkayaker" thanks very much.
i found a NYLON WEBSTRAP about 12 yards long, meant for hold in a pickup truck or something. i cut into 3" pieces and then i folded it into a loop. i used a old soldering iron to moold a hole through it and seal the edges from fraying.
the result was a welded plastic loop with a hole the exactly size 10. and the same size as is used on the sport fittings, so i can chang it if i want. but that will likly never happen.
all thats left is glueng the halves together and polishing.
