. B&C gives you easier alignment side to side; otherwise, with beadless, it takes time to check
: every strip.

I used B&C on my Outer Island (doing the seems this week, BTW), and one thing I found that helped on the tough spots where the strips wanted to seperate was to lightly mark the correct "position" prior to installing it, like register marks. Those marks will quickly sand off when the fairing is done.

That is, if I had a curve or angle that I thought would be tough and that the strips would not want to hold until the glue set, I took the strip I would be using, inserted the bead into a cove of another strip (all at the workbench) and then with a light touch of a pencil, marked the strip where the end of the cove is. Now, when I insert it into the last cove on the boat, the register mark would tell me if the bead was slipping out of the cove.

Now mind you, this only works if you are stingy with glue, otherwise the squeeze out will obscure your register marks, and secondly, you need to be using the strips cove up, so that you are inserting a bead into the already installed cove.

With all of that said, I should mention that I figured this out after 3/4 of my boat was done, so on the surface, the strips look tight, but when you put a good light on the opposite side of the strips, there are some "oh crap" spots.

I wouldn't recommend this time consuming process for an entire boat, but for those strips that you have a particular concern for, it might be worth the extra effort.
