Some pain reliever but a lot less flavor ;-)

You need a keg and a CO2 cylinder with regulator - attach the CO2 cylinder to the keg with about 50 pounds pressure and let the liquid in the keg absorb as much CO2 as possible (you can hear when the CO2 stops entering the keg). I usually hook it up several times over a 24-hour period, at the end of which I have carbonated water, carbonated ginger beer, carbonated pale ale, whatever. Cooler beverages generally absorb CO2 faster than warmer ones.

If you're thinking of making the Ginger Beer, you don't really need to carbonate it to enjoy it.
