Yes exactly - its the scraper set I had in mind and actualy spoke to a company here in Bavaria that delivers a complete line of carpentry tools - including scrapers and scraper holders. They are convinced that scrapers could not be used and sold me a nice Stanley Handplane. I recall seeing a picture somewhere - maybe it was Ted Moores or one of the Schade brothers working a scraper on the inside hull of a kayak. If it works for cedar then it should work for larch.
In regard to the working of the wood - thanks Paul, it was staining the wood (I just couldn't think of this word!) that I would like to try. Staining the wood befor you start fiberglassing. I will try this and let it soak into the grain and dry befor fiberglassing.
Thanks again,
Bryan
