I'm sure you have had your fill of "good ideas", but just to add another idea: Get a lumberman (from out of town) to come in and assess the value of your best tree, before being pumped full of lead and after. Have the lumberman write it up. Send the club a bill for the lost value, with one month to pay. Get some nice pictures showing the damage and the location relative to the club. If they don't pay, take the club to small claims court. It should be fairly easy to get a ruling in your favor that they damaged your property. It is a straight forward: value before their action -vs- the value after. If you win with one tree, tell them how many trees you have and threaten them with a suit for the lost value of the rest. A small claims case should be pretty easy, wouldn't cost you much and might create a precedent that they will understand. You might be able to get a lawyer to take the larger suit on contingency. Once you get some momentum in your favor, other actions will be more effective.
