Nick--

It's like Prismatic Coefficient turned on its side. The same idea came to me as I was cutting a wedge shaped piece of apple cake this afternoon. I think it's important to keep "rocker" as simple as possible and use it in conjunction with measurements everyone is comfortable like waterline length and draft.
And because I like to contradict myself--I don't have a clue as to the mathematics involved, but couldn't you define the shape of the keel as a bezier curve, like in computer graphics programs, and just use the bezier equation when talking about the rocker?
