: Cool! I will check out that site. I really am loving building this. It's
: great to hear wood make melody. Next will be a guitar, but I'm not sure
: what kind of guitar. I would like to carve out an arched top acoustic and
: put some really stylized f-holes. I'd also like to make a wood dobro like
: Jim Kozel sent me a link to. (I think it was him.) I have a bell brass
: dobro, but I'd like to make me a wood one to get that more mellow tone.
: The bell brass, however, really hollers. Then of course I would like to
: make a really nice classical guitar out of cedar. And of course a custom
: stratocaster, and.... Oh well, I guess it's just like building kayaks...
: you can't build just one!!!!

Malcom,
Sorry but the web address I left earlier was erronious. The correct web address for the company in Minnesota where I purchased the materials for the instruments I put together is: www.musikit.com, I just checked it out. Although, looking at the instrument you are building, I'm not sure at all what will work best as a finish. I think the company above will provide more info.

Yeah, you can't only build one....but for me, I only prefer to have the instruments I can play, or have the willingness to learn how to play...with the permission of the people who share my living space of course....my poor family, having to suffer through the screeches and missed notes as I learn to play fiddle....most of the time, I wait until they are either gone, or asleep. Then I go into the basement where the sound is dampened by the rest of the house. Good fun for you, building things of such beauty!
