Thnaks for all the help. I already have some experience kayaking, mostly in the Chesepeake and other bays, and that's where I espect to keep doing it. In fact, the deck of my new kayak has a map of the Upper Chesapeake burned in. I realize that I wouldn't be doing any sort of serious surfing in my kayak, but I know from experience that it can be fun surfing the wake of motorboats. I'll at least wait until I'm ready to build a new kayak so that if I break this one I can make a new one, and that won't be for a while.
