I bought a kit from Newfound, a Guillemot, and I'm making good progress. When I got to stripping the deck recess I looked at the stock large cockpit coaming and decided that wasn't going to work. I compared it with my sister's cockpit, which I can fit in, but just barely, and decided I wanted it bigger. I can always put in thigh braces. I have long thighs, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Now I have to cut out the actual opening and I was wondering where I could get a design that would work with stock spray skirts. Any ideas? I don't think any local kayak sellers are still open, so I can't look at existing cockpits, but if I have to, I can always design my own larger version of Newfound's.
