I have stripped most of the hull for my Great Auk. Everything went pretty good with no major problems or disasters. However on one side of the hull, the strips have gradually seperated from the forms (at form #7 to form #11). The strips have stayed glued together. I have put the keel strips in as suggested in Nick's book, and what I am troubled by is the strips going against the keel strips will be installed ok because they will be flat against the forms, but as I strip the other side, towards the sheer line, they won't lay down flat against the forms and may not be aligned when they meet. I don't want to pull the four or so strips out because they are already pretty mixed in at the stern and bow, and otherwise look good. I was thinking of cutting a straight line across the forms to alleviate the buckle, cut away any overlap, and hopefully be able to staple them flat against the forms. Is this a bad idea? This is my first strip-built, so I have no prior experience to draw from. Is there something else I could do besides stomp up and down, swear, and howl like a cat?
