My personal equipment is a home built compressor and some old body-shop guns. Unfortunately, that type of equipment is old hat in the fine finish business. Today they use HVLP (high volume low pressure) compressors and guns. This new stuff gets more finish on the work and much less into the air. It's supposed to give a much better finish too.
I don't spray paint any more because I think I have already inhaled my quota of paint particles.

: Anyone have experience spraying a varnish finish using a compressor and spray
: gun? I guess I am looking for an excuse to buy a compressor. I am not sure
: about the pressure requirements for spraying. Most compressors list 2.7
: scfm at 40 lbs and 3.6 scfm at 90 lbs. Is this adquete to run a spray gun?
: What is a reccomendation as far as an all around compressor (spraying,
: nailing, etc.) Thanks for the feedback.
