That's "fleur-de-lis". The link takes you to where the picture of my old yak is located. My plan with my Night Heron is to use natural wood colors to inlay a Canadian flag (blowing in the wind) and a fleur-de-lis. The appearance should be much the same as the graphics on the JA Guardian Spirit, shown at the link below. During the winter I hope to go through the GBBS archives to learn more about inlaying decks. I figure with all the inlay work I want to do, the Night Heron will probably take me two years to complete. I know that's a long time but after watching "Arica's Silver" slowly come into being, I know it will be worth the effort. Problem is, if the Night Heron turns out half as nice as Arica's Silver, I absolutely won't trust myself to take it on the river for obvious reasons (you know me ;) )
