: "Hey", folks.

: I'm on schedule to do my end pours on my Outer Island next week. The low
: temps will be in the low 30's and the highs in the mid 40's.

: I'm figuring that if I run an extension cord outside and hang a drop light
: inside the boat, just below the cockpit, that it will keep things warm
: enough for the epoxy and everything to set up okay. I'm actually concerend
: about getting things TOO hot and messing up other parts of the boat.

: Any experience or advice in this area?

: Rick

Hi Rick,

Umm, I'd be conserned with the light getting to hot too, but just a gut feel. Maybe you shoud set up a couple on the out side, that way you can check the temperature of the exterior of the hull easily, and watch to ensure nothing over heats?

However, I've no experince sticking the light in the boat for heating it. If you can rig it so that it is not right against the wood that would help. I've seen the tops of doors chared due to a heat light in the bathroom, but that is with only a few inches between the spot light and the top of the door.

Can you paddle as is, and do the end pour next summer?

good luck

Myrl.
