I would have gladly sent out another set of instructions if I knew.
You could have built a little dam and filled the end cavities with epoxy putty and or wood/epoxy. Then you bind the two halfs of the kayak together. You then peel up the bow and stern tips, put in some epoxy and bind them back up. You now have totally solid, sealed ends for drilling etc. Then you wet out the fiberglass tape that's positioned inside the hull.
I'm not alone on building this way.
