IMO ... I think this whole thing of doing end-pours is made more complex than need be. I think it's nuts to stand the darn boat on end and then pour in the epoxy. Before the deck and hull are joined I just make a little foam dam in the hull and deck if needed, pour in the epoxy, let it cure and scrape it level. When I mate the deck to the hull I just glue the resulting flat surfaces together. It works just like Jay says, it's very simple.
