: My second surf craft was a waveski. It is at least 8 years old so it is not
: on the cutting edge of HP waveskis. I demoed an mako extreme and it
: handled very much like my old waveski. I want a kayak that will handle
: like a ski! For that you need a very diffrent rail than the Surfyak has. I
: don't want to allways be worrying over the beach side rail, I want to be
: able to forget about it and then drop and carve on it.
: Sage
: P.S. Bob loves his Surfyak and paddles it very well. On my build my hull came
: out flatter and slightly deformed.
Did you use just a single plane on the hull bottom? If you did, I would think that be less forgiving then one with the some upward angles or additional plane transitioning into the rails. I not sure what you mean by "heel". Are you tilting to one side, or are you tilted backwards? From the pics, you have a pretty acute rocker and minimal volume in the bow.
