: Steve,
: If I'm not mistaken the Fast Touring (BK57) is one of Percy Blandford's
: designs.
: In fact, everything with the same prefix in the CC catalog can be attributed
: to him.
: Percy started designing these boats long ago for British Sea Scouts. A book
: that Percy published about his boats showed some scouts and their leaders
: working on their boats wearing the required shirt, tie and sweater.
: I thinks the reason these boats have been around for so long is that Percy
: knew that they had to be "scout proof".
: Good luck.
: Charlie
Hi Charlie,
You're right on the money. Percy's name is on the plans. I've been trying to see if my troop would like to upgrade to this design. The one we are using is quite a bit simpler construction, but a little "bulky" in my opinion. I'd like to get these built before we commit to the other design. Then we could make an informed choice. We'll have to see - I'll go with whatever the troop wants to do.
