: I've just about finished the box. I think I'll put a couple more coats of
: lacquer on it. I started work on it a few years ago, but it never went
: anywhere. I restarted work when I started building my kayak, and this got
: finished first. It's built to fit around an old family bible, not the
: oldest, but the one with my family name on it.

: Right now the box has a custom mix of Solar Lux stains. Yellow Maple, which
: is really orange, and Dark Walnut. On this is a coat of sanding sealer and
: three coats of lacquer.

: BTW, about half the work was just in the dovetails, I refuse to use a power
: tool to cut such a traditional joint.
